packing list + travel essentials

packing list + travel essentials

You deserve to take a trip, near or far, local or exotic, city or nature… anywhere to reset your mind with a break from life’s daily routine.

I just got back from a mini eurotrip, and realized that I have acquired some travel know-how, especially when it comes to packing. If you have the essentials, you’ll be more than set for your trip. Less is more is the name of the game.

By categories, here is my well-traveled packing list.

The obvious.

You could technically travel with these items, your body, and the clothes you have on and still survive.

  • passport
  • credit cards

electronics.

Maybe more crucial than clean underwear.

  • camera
  • laptop
  • phone
  • chargers
  • converter
  • earphones

clothes.

Keep tones neutral and lines simple so that it’s easy to create numerous outfits with just a few pieces. Black works any day, but navy, olive, or beige are also perfect to mix and match.

  • black jeans
  • black leggings
  • black skirt
  • black silk cami
  • dark blue jeans
  • white tshirt
  • one dressy blazer or jacket
  • brown leather jacket
  • undies + socks

accessories.

Test drive your shoes ahead of time to avoid blisters!

  • black leather boots
  • sneakers
  • one pair of heels
  • one watch

beauty.

For that jet set no makeup makeup look.

  • Vaseline
  • sunscreen
  • Stila lip and cheek tint
  • toothbrush + tooth paste
  • tiger balm

Miscellaneous.

Take advantage of not having cellular data abroad, and let your mind free flow when you have down time. Sitting idle on the plane/train/automobile can realign the multitude of thoughts swirling around. Write them down, and see where your mind repeatedly wanders to... this is how I find an answer as to what I should do next.

  • notebook + pen
  • book
  • extra Ziploc bags to organize and divide clean and dirty clothes
  • eye mask + ear plugs

I'm so happy to be back in Montreal, as this city is quite something during the summer. Terrasses, 5à7, piknic electronik... but the travel bug (more like a lifetime virus) is itching to start planning a summer getaway. Scrolling through Retrigo's destinations is not helping either. They offer all-inclusive retreat and activity packages around the world, which has me thinking... where to next?

Check out https://www.retrigo.com/ to see what I'm talking about!
